Perch language files

I get Perch language file (perch/core/lang/en-gb.txt) updates a lot of the time I'm working on a site. Am I safe to add these files to my .gitingore file? I assume so, as the files will just populate automatically in whatever context (dev/staging/production) as the CMS is used, but I thought it best to check :)
